National HRD Workshops held in South Asia
As part of the national level activities taking place under the ESCAP regional project on the elimination of sexual abuse and exploitation among children and youth in the Asia-Pacific region, National HRD Workshops are being convened in collaboration with the national level partner organizations in each of the 12 participating countries (with an exception of Pakistan) in 1999. The first series of Workshops were held in South Asian and Southeast Asian countries, including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. Below is a look at the South Asian Workshops.

Health and Social Service Providers in South Asia and the Philippines Train to Help Young Victims of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation Heal and Renter Society
Health and social service providers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the Philippines underwent two weeks of training in Nepal from 7-19 July 2000, to enhance their knowledge and skills in meeting the physical, emotional and psychological needs of the rising number of sexually abused and sexually exploited children and youth in Asia.
