The Barefoot College
The Barefoot College in Tilonia, India has been giving young villagers useful skills for the last 23 years. Young drop?outs who would otherwise move to the cities to do menial work or face unemployment are given expertise needed in their own communities such as construction and repair of water pumps and solar panels, school teaching, mechanics and electrical engineering. The Barefoot College is the recipient of the 1995 ESCAP (HRD) Award. Filmed in Tilonia, Rajasthan, India. ESCAP 1996. 8 minutes
